Have fun stormin' the castle!
In many ways, culture is very much like the air we breathe. It is all around us, always with us. Television, movies, and music. Books and magazines. Theater, art, media, and more. It is everywhere. It feeds our ideas and imaginations, and for good or ill, it shapes our communities. And just like the air, when it becomes polluted, there is no escaping it. You can close the windows and draw the blinds, but it's still there.
For too long, the Left has had its way with our culture, suffusing it with propaganda—usually in ways so subtle, they are barely even noticed. For too long, the Right has let them run free in this endeavor.
Conservatives can no longer afford to cede the cultural battleground to the left. Left unchallenged, propaganda becomes dogma, revisionism becomes fact, and deconstructionism metastasizes into nihilism, especially among the young.
Here on the Culture Front, we'll be discussing the "smog" in our cultural air ... but we'll also be focused on finding solutions. Fun as it may be, conservatives need to do more than gather to stone the Hollywood harlot—we need to offer alternatives. Alternative choices. Alternative ideas. Alternative artisitc communities.
If we going to have a voice in the culture, we're going to have to fight for it!
